Ken Mitchelhill Award

The Ken Mitchelhill Award is available to Australian or New Zealand early career researchers who are members of APS. The Award is named in honour of Dr Ken Mitchelhill. Ken was an active protein chemist and a strong advocate of early career researchers.

Applications are invited from current Australian or New Zealand early postdoctoral career researchers (within 5 years of PhD completion) who are working in the broad area of proteomics and associated fields. Eligibility is restricted to members of APS.

The successful awardee will be expected to present an oral presentation at the 25th Annual Lorne Proteomics Symposium. The Award will comprise a certificate, oral presentation at Lorne and AUD$2,000 to be used as a contribution towards attending an international proteomics conference in 2020.

Applications should be submitted by 5.00pm, 22 November 2019 to Stuart Cordwell.
Applications must include:

  • Copy of the online submitted abstract for the 25th Annual Lorne Proteomics Symposium (1 page, pdf format)
  • CV summary of track record (fellowships, publications, prizes and/or awards) (max 2 pages, pdf format)
  • Bio-sketch (1 page, pdf format)
  • Evidence of PhD submission or award date

Early Career Award

The Early Career Award is awarded to Australian or New Zealand early career scientists irrespective of their current location to enable their participation at the 2020 Symposium. Applications are limited to scientists with no more than 7 years postdoctoral experience. Awards in this category are made at the discretion of the organising committee.

Applications should be submitted by 5.00pm, 22 November 2019 to Stuart Cordwell.

Applications must include:

  • Copy of the online submitted abstract for the 25th Annual Lorne Proteomics Symposium
    (1 page, pdf format)
  • CV summary (1 page, pdf format)
  • Biosketch (1page, pdf format)
     

SoAPS Oral Presentation Awards

Selected participants have the opportunity to present their research in the SoAPS session at the 25th Lorne Proteomics Symposium.
The award is open to all students who are members of the APS, have registered for the meeting and are studying a higher university degree. Applicants should select the ‘SoAPS’ session during Oral Abstract submission. Students selected for an Oral Presentation in the SoAPS session will receive a monetary prize and certificate during the closing ceremony of the meeting.

Poster Presentation Awards

Awards will be based on selection by expert judges during the 25th Lorne Proteomics Symposium, judged on the day of the poster presentations and awarded during the symposium closing ceremony. The awards are open to all students who are members of the APS, have registered for the meeting and are studying a higher university degree and. All student delegates that are the presenting author are eligible. Award winners receive a monetary prize and certificate.

Please note there will be a separate award provided for the Data Visualisation and Bioinformatics Symposium on Friday 7 February 2020.
